Get the CC 1.1. KC's a pro modder, he's probably right. The exact difference's, I don't know. The CC has more features and improved design. It's a good chip. There's no reason to get it over the CC 1.0.

well i tried to give you the geest of it, both chips are constantly changing if you want to go back to a particular date thats about the only way you'll get a brake down difference of each chip and unfortunately i don't have such information, I'm sure you can find it somewhere though.

the 1.1 started out with these improvements:

HA wire on chip for V12 fix from crashing, doesnt help save the laser just keep the console from crashing as often.

Hey, they added a pretty little light on the chip :)

the PC board is now 4 layers, more compact and solder pads are located more practical to chip installation.

FPGA software improved for better flashing

and along the way they've made changes to both chips with the major difference being listed in the first post, you cant buy a 1.1 now with the 4kbyte EEPROM so why split hairs? while i see this chip having potential to become a preferred choice by allot of customers at present time the DMS/MI have that spot won out and i choose to not keep up with the CCs because of that choice.

Yep. Here's the readme file if you need proof:

This is hacked binary firmware package R19 for Crystal Chip.

The hacked FWARE10.CCI (CC1.0), FWARE11.CCI (CC1.1) and FWAREDF.CCI (CC2.0)
files are included for those who want to use alternate methods to update the
firmware.

----

Burn cc-upgrade.bin using your favorite bin/cue compatible burning software
(Nero, CDRWIN, Alcohol, Fireburner, Burn-At-Once, etc).

Notes on upgrading:

Step 1: Insert the Upgrade Disc into your PS2 and let it start up.
Step 2: Choose "Install Firmware" and wait for it to complete.
Step 3: If you wish to use BootManager(highly suggested!), make sure you have
a memory card inserted in Slot 1 and choose "Install BootManager" then
wait for it to complete.
Step 4: Reboot your PS2, you're all done!
