Nothing in the Flash Bios Menu

After I softmod my xbox and I got the evox dashboard and under system configuration>system settings scroll down to bio menu and this is what i see
BIOS
Bios Version Unknown
Kernel Version 1.00.5838.01
Xbox Hardware Info 00000230 A3 D4

Can someone tell how to install the lastest bios and flash them cause I heard to make back up cds your xbox how to be flashing. And is this the reason I cant connect to a ftp server causing iam not flashing.
