I have been reading a ton of information about how to burn this and that. I have been able to burn divix to dvd-r and also just the dvd movie to dvd-r. I would like to know if there is a guide or how I would go about burning the menu list as well. I don't want the extras I just want the ability to to select a specific scene from the menu on my backed dvd-r.

Any help thank you.

Keeping a working menu depends on the programs you use to back up your dvd. CloneDVD 2 allows you to do this. Also doing a straight copy with DVD Shrink will work as long as you don't edit the movie in any way. Another program like Shrink is Nero Recode. In most cases these programs need a decrypting program to make a dvd copy. Try the guide tab at page top. There may be some guides to using these.

With Nero and DVD Shrink, to keep the Menu (just to browse the different sections of the movie) will I have to make a 1 to 1 copy? Also, is CloneDVD the only program that will alow me to keep the Menu and not the previews, extras, etc.?

It can also be done with dvd rebuilder pro/cce or hc. Link is in my sig although in order to upgrade to pro you will be required to make a $25 donation. Another alternative is dvdremake by dimadsoft.
