I have tried backing up Flight Plan and I am having problems as well. I keep getting error on DVD Shrink stating Invalid data in file "C:\Documents and Settings\Mark.FamilyRoom\My Documents\All DVD Work\Flight Plan Ripped\VIDEO_TS\VTS_03_1.3.VOB"
I am using the latest version of ANYDVD, 5.8.3.1, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink. I have never encountered this problem before and have always followed the instructions of Scuba Pete with nothing but success.
I have downloaded a VOB Blocker but have no clue on how to use. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I too am frustrated like some of the other members of this forum and I haven't even tried "The Great Raid" yet. Sorry for the long read.
AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 are designed to work together. Make the investment in these programs and you'll save yourself alot of headaches and wasted time and money!!!!!
DVDfab is a whole movie ripper and very easy to use, use it to rip the files to your hard drive. Create a folder on your desktop and call it "flight_plan", store the files ripped with DVDFab there. Once done there should be a VIDEO_TS folder created by DVDFab inside the flight_plan folder containing the video files. Close DVDFab.
Create another folder on you desktop and call it "temporary".
Now run vobBlanker and leave the settings as they are (you need to do this because there are still some bad cells in the files that cause the problem with shrink).
For input Folder browse to the flight_plan folder and then into the VIDEO_TS folder, highlight the VIDEO_TS.IFO file and press ok (path looks like this: c:\flight_plan\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.IFO).
For output folder, browse to the temporary folder you created and press ok (path looks like this: c:\temporary)
Press the Process button and wait for VobBlanker to finish.
Once VobBlanker is done, the "temporary" folder is all you care about and can delete the flight_plan folder on your desktop. The temporary folder contains the corrected video files that shrink will use.
Create another folder on you desktop and call "flight_plan_fixed", rename the temporary folder to VIDEO_TS and put this folder into the flight_plan_fixed folder you created.
Run DVDshrink and choose open files and browse to: flight_plan_fixed\VIDEO_TS, highlight the video_ts folder and click open. Shrink should have no problem with opening the files, at this point you can use shrink as you normally would, I suggest you re-author to get the main movie only.
