I've found forums with steps on how to get online with the original playstation 2, but I have yet to find one for the slim version.
I need to know what exactly to plug into the back, whether it be the actual cord from your computer, that you just unplug and plug into that (because i've been told that's what you do, but I'm not sure about that) or a network cable, or network adapter?
Any help would be muchly appreciated. Or, if you can offer me a website with all the details, that would help alot too!!

They are the same directions, except the network adaptor is built into the back of the slim ps2 (you have to buy a network adaptor for the old ones). The easiest way to try would be just unplugging the network cable from your computer and plugging it into your ps2 (might or might not work), assuming you have high speed internet already.
My computer's running on dial-up internet. I assume this isn't a problem though, I hope.
Is there any kind of special cord/plugin that I need for this?
A friend told me just to unplug the phone line/cord from my computer and plug that into the back of my ps2 and it should work. I just want to know exactly what i'm supposed to do before I do things that weren't even necessary in the first place. :)
someone with a slimline is going to have to help you there. Is there 1 or 2 different ports on the back of your ps2 (if there is only 1, then you cant use a phone line)?
on slimline you can only use broadband either through pc/router with adsl or direct from modem with cable broadband.
if through pc you need a crossover cable otherwise it doesnt work
you cannot run on dial up as the ps2 isnt dialing your isp plus even if you could it would take a couple of hours to load levels and such like.
