for a Pro or Pro SE use Toxic OS 0.41, you can use just the bios flash 1.4 but i wouldnt, always go with the OS on a Pro.......and it is 0.41, not 1.4 on the OS
EDIT: and burning the Toxic flash disks at 4x often fails in the flashing process, always burn at max speed, i use 52x myself and it always works perfectly with TDK black disks.

if you have a Lite version you have to use the bios 1.4
if you have a Pro version use the Toxic OS 0.41 which includes the bios 1.4
and regardless burn at max speed on a quality disk. Tokijin has done allot of homework on different chips, but i've flahsed more DMS chips then he's ever seen :)

the Pro has more flash memory onboard and can be used to launch more programs/elf's. they accepted all major cards last time i got chips from them and with USP express shipping you get it in 3 days from there (France) to the US

What did they charge for the express shipping and does it come with a wiring diagram with the tape to hold the chip?

Well if you say burning at Max speed with the DMS firmware doesn't matter KC, I'll believe that. However in general burning CD games at max speed is rarely a good idea, and everybody who's ever followed those instructions for burning the flash upgrade CD has been successful. But also personally I've never flashed DMS chips, though people have followed that guide in doing so successfully. I burn my flash CD's at 12x, as that's the lowest speed my DVD Burner supports for writing CD's. In general though, you don't want to burn PS2 CD-ROM games or PSX games at max speed. That is never a good idea. Cheers!

you really don't do much research of your own huh???? if you look on the left side of their homepage, you see the shipping prices quite plainly. they ship with the wire and a few lengths of solder but the tape your on your own, i get mine at wal-mart, a roll has done over 200 mods and i still have quite a bit left.

everyone has their own opinions on burn speed but i burn all CD based disks at max speed, and most failed DMS flash disks were burnt at low speed and the problem solved with a max speed burn. what you choose to do is compleatly up to you and that is fine, but never say it's never a good idea for others as you do not know their setup and situation.
i've ran disk quality tests on allot of burns and all CD's come back with a greater then 99%.......DVD's on the other hand are a different story, i get excellent results with quality media up to speeds of 12x, after 12x my quality will start to drop past 96%, on some disks 16x will return as low as upper 80s.

Well everybody's situation is different. I've burned about 100 PSX games at 4x and they all play perfectly. I've burned PSX games at max speed, and most of them didn't boot. Most people I've talked to recommend burning at slower speeds for CD-ROM games. To each his own, but I don't plan on changing my recommendation, it's never steered anybody wrong. Cheers!

the roll of tape is only a buck and has many uses, it wasn't made for installation of modchips and I'm sure Scotch didn't ever give that a thought when the produced it.
and not to start a pissing contest but top quality disks are produced with ink intended for faster burning speeds, burning at slower speeds causes overburn (through the ink)because of laser power control in allot of cases, your getting by because your slowest is 12x but burning those same disks at say 1x will most likely give you failures but no guarantee there either. a good 'rule of thumb' is divide the max speed of the disk by 4 and use that as your lowest speed for CD-R media.

Okay. I'm certainly no guru of CD burning. I didn't thing this was a "pissing contest" lol. It was merely a difference of opinion. I use crap CMC Mag CD-R's and most audio CD's I've burned at 48x play okay. I have a ton of PSX backups that I was thinking of copying to Sony CD-R's. It'd take awhile, but I know there's no way in hell CMC Mag is wearing down my modded PS2 with it's crappy dyes. As much as I bash CMC Mag DVD media, I'd be a pretty big hypocrite to use their CD media. Cheers!

which chip do you have? if you dont have a file browser built in you can execute launchelf and use its filebrowser to copy/paste the file from XXX to the MC.

the DMS will launch elf's with its original DMS V6 flash, just use the above mentioned method to transfer the upgrade elf or just execute it from the disk.

you can use backup flash to boot and check if it works with a good flash disk, if not then it's a bad installation.
to get backup flash to load, press reset from stand by then press reset 3x with 1 second pauses between the resets, this forces the chip to load in backup from the read only flash bank.
if this works when you get to the screen on the flash upgrade where it says 'Press X to upgrade' press R1 R2 L1 L2 all at the same time instead, this flushes the EEPROM of all data prior to the flash.
