Ok, thanks for reading and hope you might be able to help. I bought the sp2 slim model# scph-75001. I have tried the other forums on copying and games I have purchased do not want to play after copying. Also, I have a laptop, hp pavilion zd8000 w/dual tv tuner device which allows me to route video, cable or air tv and radio to my laptop, but doesnt allow the sp2 to work. The device has various connection options, s cable, the red, yellow, and white connectors, and the old coax input. Or maybe there is a better way to connect to the laptop? Suggestions? I thought it would be a good one, has the internet thing built in so I didnt have to buy an adapter, even bought the wireless handsets, which are really cool. Last thing, I didnt see where it said anywhere, but the old sp2 you used to have to buy something different to play dvd, is that now built in to this one or do I still need whatever it is that makes that work?
Please try to word any advice in the most simple way possible. I am a little older and my lingo is surely different;)
Thanks again,
Mike
Your help and input greatly appreciated.

unless your using a modchip or swap magic your not going to be able to play a copied game disk.
as for the rest of the post, i cant understand your poor English skills enough to make out what your asking/saying. but the old PS2, not sp2, played DVD's just fine, you just had to install an IR receiver for the DVD remote if you didnt want to use the joy pad controler, the slim version has the IR receiver built in as well as the network adapter.

Well, please excuse my poor English and chalk it up to sitting at home on a Friday night drinking beer and playing with electronics. I apologize, it did seem to ramble when I read it again this afternoon. Basically, poor english or no, you seemed to have understood most of what I asked. I have the slim sp2. My old roommate had one several years of age and I remember he had to buy the IR receiver for the sp2 thick to play dvd. As to the rest of it, I have a laptop with different capabilities than some and I merely requested the information concerning the ability to plug and play sony ps2 on it. In addition, I asked if a different device/technique I did not know of would allow such an event to occur. Finally, I had read on a couple of forums and on sony's site, about a couple of issues relating to the 7500 series. I thought maybe someone up to date with what I was speaking of, might be able to explain in plain english, what the differences really were and any simple insite to be aware of when planning on using the slim ps2 for entertainment. And yes, I am aware there must be a mod chip and magic swap in order to play copies. Once again, I had read in a forum, there was a different twist in sony's attempt to control piracy. Sorry to have inconvenienced you with my poor english last night, I do hope my sentence structure was much more appropriate. Just curious, how is it one casts the stone of judgement concerning proper english when he does not use proper grammer or application of english himself? Just tossing the critique right back to your area... No harm intendeed, just plain and simple fun with english. Oh and by the way, thanks for taking the time to read what I wrote and even give enough of a damn to write anything down, proper grammer or not!... Hope you have a good weekend, I know I have a good one planned.

as you obviously do not see, this board is not just a US based group, but has people from all corners of the globe, the comment on the English was not a casting of stones or a judgment of any sort. i thought you were from some country where English may not be your first language sorry you take so much offense, not everyone is out to get you.....relax. and what you refer to as proper grammar doesn't cut it as such where i live, so easy with those stones of your own there. I'll make sure i don't try to help you again, I'd hate to ruffle your feathers any further and waste my time doing so.

wow....that's fine, blame whatever it is on me.... np. But let me tell ya something... I am proud to be and American... except I will tell ya what, instead of what you predict, I will turn the other cheek. Thank you sir/madam and please, by all means, have a great day where ever it is you live. But so you know, your best day would never equal my worst! Ahh yes, the wasting the time comment... again, I thank your for your precious breath... oops I mean improper english grammer typing, which was a response to my improper english grammer typing.... Do you get it now??? If you can dish it out, well hell bud, be willing to take it too! And for anything that I said you took incorrectly, I surely do apologize. I love humor and try to respond in a humorous way. Some people just have a stick up their ass all the time, and well let me tell ya.. I dont mind shoving it up a hell of a lot more if then cant joke with me and I cant return the joke;) My apologies to anyone in the forum who would think anyone in this conversation is going too far. It is a new day tomorrow and I have best wishes for everyone. God Bless Everyone.
