Apologize if this belongs in another forum.

I've come across a few utils that can play or convert PS2 audio files, but they expect the files to already be extracted.

A directory (sorted by size) of the files from the game I have are:

37 0FLIST.DIR
57 SYSTEM.CNF
264,449 IOPRP255.IMG
562,876 MODULES.MRG
1,329,532 CRSDAT.MRG
4,262,380 SLPM_654.05
23,187,456 JPN.CVM
199,122,944 ETC.CVM
239,710,208 BIN.CVM
306,089,984 MOV.CVM
455,763,968 ADXJ.CVM

It appears the CVM files are the compressed archives.

Is there anything that can help rip any audio samples or music from these archives?

Rats... sorry for the file formatting there.

Doesn't appear to be a way to get the spaces in there.

Thanks for the additional method, but think that still leaves me out of luck though.

I don't have AFS files. Or if I do they are more than likely in the CVM files listed above in my first post.

I've tried using "Extractor" which has an option for asf, but it couldn't find any (it couldn't detect any audio formats for that matter). It did find a few MPG files in MOV.CVM, so wondering if the asf format it's looking for is different.

Are there any other methods?

Thanks!

Ok.. I got a bit further.

In looking at the options for Extractor, I unchecked the "Fast Scan" option and was able to extract 3 RIFF files.

RIFF's are not raw audio, but formated almost the same as a Microsoft Wav file. The difference is they are missing the Microsoft header info.

I'm not sure if they are valid yet as I need something to play them or add the MS header info, but working on it.

I have a bit of hope as I was able to extract MPG video files.

Looks like Extractor couldn't get the file after all.
The header doesn't resemble any RIFF format.

So back to square one.

Any other ideas??

Never mind. I found out more on what CVM files are and how they work.
Unless you can get your hands on the SDK (which requires a Development License from Sony) or someone reverse engineer's the format, there's nothing out there to read or extract files from it. Shame as the format is used on Xbox and other consoles as well.

You can't add data to a finished image, so no, it can't be done.
Besides, games don't work with mp3's.
