hey another question
my friend bought 50 DVD+R discs and asked me to copy his games for him

i tried burning 2 games but the disc didnt work in the xbox

is it because i used DvD+r but meant to use dvd-r?

wat sort of disc works best?

put xbox game in xbox drive

ftp game to computer

create xbox iso (i think i used quix or something)

burn using nero

usually its always been fine

but now using these DVD+R its not working
the discs are MTV brand and have mtv logo and say "Premium grade multimedia storage" on them

Your doing all the steps right.

Xbox can be picky about what media it will read and be most compatible with. Actully all syatems are like that. I have diffrent media that I use for each of my Modded systems (GameCube, PS2, Xbox)

Does the media you use work on your friends Xbox? If so then have him pick up some of that media.

If it dosent then you will have to find media that his Xbox will be happy with and work on.

I had some +R laying around and tried a game on them once.
It would not even recognize it. So i stick with -R
for everything i burn.
Poor guy, tell him to use them for backing up movies so that it is not a total waste of his money

I've had pretty good luck with +R discs. Bitset them to DVD-ROM and you should have no problem.

that is all well and good, but in order to do that your burner
must support that function, and not all of them do.
so for some people that may be an option, but not for everyone.

Of course you are right, but not all burners may be able burn +R and -R either. Some only burn one kind. Making sure you're able to accomplish something is up to whoever is making the discs.

very good point Jigen
luckily my Sony can burn +R, -R, DVD9 and everything
But i do not think you can change the Bitset to DVD-Rom
Although i have not really given it too much thought since
i always use the -R
Both my PS2's and my Xbox seem to play those really well so i
stick with what works.

I agree that -R works great. Hardly ever an issue, however IME the bitset discs work with no issues because the xbox reads them as DVD-ROM. No matter what drive you have, it will read a bitset +R disc.
Like you say though, your burner needs to support this. Just an FYI to maybe save this guy buying more discs.
