As far as i know, none of the programs that can lock files and folders(or encrypt them) are free.

I think he meant actual freeware, not something that stops working after 30 days....

Create a new folder and place it on your desktop -- then right click it and select Lock Folder -- it will ask for your password --- and will lock it.
To unlock it --- right click again --> select Lock Folder again -- it will ask for the password and will unlock it.
<<< smiles >> The program is called LockFolder !
it does not lock individual files.
-- I have been using EZCrypto for years -- this will make files, folders inaccessible ! If you have it setup right, you just right click anything and select Encrypt ! You can store your password encrypted in it -- go to Edit ->Named Password.

Hello Jeanc1,
I hate to do this to you but I did just what you suggested and this is the result:
http://s23.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0SKB54BKUKRSS1JWM5OQOGMHEW
(sorry but I do not know how insert JPGs to this messages).
The folder changed name but is not lock. Easycrypto seems a better option.
What do you think I'm doing wrong?
Thank you,
cm

<< grinz >> and a smile ! It's Ok ! You may not be doing anything wrong -- It's that crazy piece of software I think ! Maybe uninstall and re-install it! Did it ask you to put in a password ,twice to confirm, when you did the installation ?
The first time I installed it --- it did the same thing to me !But now it is fine!

Try this FolderLock , it's a different one and works great ! here:-

You are welcome ! the web is full of lil tools ! It's a matter of finding them ! Some are ""script kiddies"" made full of bugs and can really mess up a PC. That first one I linked for you was one of them --- the second one , I just finished dissassembling it -- it has no spyware in it , and was written with a decent knowledge of programming - it's good !
Have a great day ! or night or morning --- depends where you are !

Hello Jeanc1,
I just found out that you can only lock 4 folders at a time in the Free version. I guess I'll keep my Easycrypto handy just in case.
;=)
Thank you,
