Hello all,
I have tried ripping this movie with CloneDVD2, AnyDVD, DVD Decrypter, VOBblanker and DVDShrink and I cant get it to run past the first 2 seconds and then I get....

Processing error.
D:/Video_TS/VTS_02_1.VOB: read error

Data error (Cyclic redundancy check)

The disc is clean so can anyone suggest my next move as I would be very greatful.

Thnaks in advance,
Doug.

That dosen't mean jack. Bad presses occur much more frequently these days and do not appear to have visible defects. Replacing the disc is a simple thing to try......

LMAO, calm down man. I did in fact pull another new disc and it had the same problems and believe me when i say that I tried that before asking for help.
Take care and thanks once again,
Doug.

No sweat. I never get upset or riled by anything on these boards. If you read a little here at AD and on CD Freaks, you'll find that "bad"original discs and batches of bad discs are being found more and more frequently. Therefore, it is a simple little check to try another....

Good luck on your problem solutions....

I'm using the newest versions of DVD43, DVD Shrink, and DVD Decrypter. I get "The Cave" to rip in file mode, but when i open the folder in Shrink it refuses to let me compress it to a size that will fit on to a DVD-5. Any Suggestions?

worked 4 me. DVD Fab Decrypter then DVD Shrink 3.2 and burn with Nero. DVD Decrypter is slowly becoming obsolete and never works with Sony DVD's.

I am painfully aware, as in $$$$, in the very near future the freeware of 2005 will no longer function properly and thankfully I will be able to purchase Clone DVD and AnyDVD together to burn e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g that I want !!! Ah, the power>

Well AnyDVD,Decrypter and then NeroRecode work like a charm first time for me. Go figure. Different encryptions!! I can see in the future I'll probably need to purchase CloneDVD.

I agree with you both when talking about blank media but I was talking about a BRAND NEW retail movie from the shelf and I pulled two so I guess that were not on the same page here but never mind because I got the movie copied using DVDFab and VOBBlanker.
Thanks again.

Pressed discs and burned discs are completly different animals.
Original movies are "pressed" and copies are "burned".....

Exxitar, it's all good my friend as reading these forums with all of the different threads and different ideas within those threads it can be difficult trying to keep it all straight in ones mind. Now, having said that this is still one of the greatest forums out there and with the help of some of the pro's in here we all benefit.
Thanks again guys,
Doug.

ps. A note to Sony "keep it up people as we all learn more with every roadblock you throw out there." You would think that these people would have learned with the old Betamax all those years ago and how they were so proprietary with that technology and still lost out to VHS....lol
