DVD-R playback ends to soon

After some troubles I have been able to record a movie on a 4.7Gb DVD-R using commercial software. It plays fine on my computer. However, when I put it into a "normal" living room dvd-player it plays fine until to about the last 15 minutes. The DVD just stops and returns to the menu. What did I do wrong. It looks like the DVD players cannot get to a certain area on the disc. Any suggestions ?

What brand of media are you using? This is known to happen when using cheaper media.

I am using Sony DVD-R disks (5DMR47A) on a Pioneer DVD-RW.

Other dvd players stop at exactly the same moment.
Anyone ?

Sony discs are great! It has to be your player. Other possibilites....Try another Sony disc. Maybe that particular disc had bad dye. Try other media. Princo, Ritek, Verbatim, etc.... Maybe your dvd player will detect better with these type of medias. Explorer and play around with it.
