I have used DVD Santa a few times to convert DivX/Xvid movies to DVD format. All has gone well and i have been very happy with the results, except for 1 little problem. After converting and burning to DVD with both Nero and Santa, the movie skips parts during playback. This only happens on the burnt DVD, the files that are saved to my hard drive are perfect, no skipping at all. Help with this would be very much appreciated as it starting to get annoying.

Things to look into.

-Media Type.
-How Fast to Burn.
-Multi-tasking. etc

These are just a few things that can cause skipping.

It could be the actual blank dvd's you are using, try making an ISO and running it on your computer.

Edit:

Tried changing the disk type, but it only worked the once, burn again and the movie skips scenes in parts, whilst the HD copy plays fine...

How fast do you Burn? What programs do you use to burn? What is the brand Name of the DVD's you are using. I wonder if the lens on your burner is clean or dirty? etc, etc, etc.

Can you provide some additional details?

I burn at the lowest setting i can use (4x), i use Nero to burn all images i make. Lens could be dirty i suppose, thats something i havent considered. I have now changed to AVI2DVD from this forum and have not had a problem with it.

Two things that are very important to prevent skipping.

1) What is the Brand name of your Blank DVD's (I keep asking, but you never answer?)

2) Do Not use Paper Labels! I'm not sure if I asked if you used paper labels or not. If you do use them, That could very well be another reason.

Let me know if you have had any further success.

Thanks,
JBurden
