hi there, i am rather new to this, apologies for any dumb thing I could say...

bought infinity matrix, and (i thought) soldered it correctly.
I have also applied the 5.1V fix to LA6508

here is what I see at boot up:

- matrix logo
- browser, which lets me adjust the basic settings then gives me no data and the dvd drive won't move or even open the tray.

I double-triple-umpteenth time checked the wires and joints and they look good.

I have checked the fuses and I don't get a short, I get a few ohms resistance.

I have tried inserting the gamepod in slot1 or slot2 or no gamepod at all and always got the same result.

I have measured resistance between pins 18 19 20 21 and ground,
and I got something around 60kohm.


- Someone said I should replace the LA6508 and the fuses, which looks
doable. Do you think it is worth doing?

- Is there any other place on the motherboard where I should check, does anyone know where the voltage supply for the dvd drive comes from so I can check where things go wrong? Where can I measure the voltage supply on the flex cable connectors? I tried on the small (4 wires) one, but never managed to measure any voltage...
Any advice?

it sounds like you may have blown a fuse i would replace them and see if that helps it is worth a try

With the resistance values I have found, do you think it's worth replacing also the LA6508?
