Write it to a cd. I'm using an older version I saved that way a long time ago.

Then what do you do about the updates, Of coure they've stopped coming out w/ updates so you shouldn't worry anymore but what about back then? And why go through the trouble of taking care of a disc when you can easily re-DL it in a couple of mins?

I put it on my other computer that isn't hooked up to the internet. Taking care of a disc is pretty simple just put it with other software. Oh yeah don't need updates.

Yeah, but that's alot of disc. i don't make a back up of all my software and I already have about 200 disc that I need to keep. And if I did make a back up I'd probably end up w/ about 210. I don't...it just seems like alot of work to me. but to each his own I guess. If you don't care about updates then what do you do when there's a new encryption?

I have to say DVDFAB is the "poo". It'll take any encryption AnyDVD will do except it's free.

i back up my hard drive at least once every 2 months using nero's back it up just to be safe, and i only use up like 3 dvd for the back up..
how you get like 210, is beyond me, unless your using cd-r's

I'm not talking about just my backups. I'm talking about every disc I have, period. Software, music, pics and other things. DVDs alone is nowhere near that. I haven't been doing this for taht long.
And the guy is saying he backs up all software individually.

I back up my entire HDD at 2:00 am everyday in less then 15 minutes, unattended. All it takes is an external HDD or an internal slave drive and Norton Ghost10, previously Drive Image 7.01. That?s all my email?s, documents, OS settings, I mean everything. The software on sale costs under $40 and even an external HDD and case can be less the $60. Next time you have to reload all your software and OS for 6 to 8 hour ?s or more and still never seeing again all your docs, emails, pictures, etc. remember that $100 bill! <G>

EVERYDAY? What do you have to fear that you back it up once a day?

Changes made to a word documents, excel spreadsheets, tons of emails, FrontPage changes for my websites, etc.
But here's the thing, it doesn't cost a penny more once you own that $100 combo, so why not? If I load a program that causes a glitch, poof, I can go back in less then 15 minutes and have exactly what I had prior, not just what the registry had, but ALL files, etc.
I also have a firesafe external HDD that I use to back up all four of my machines monthly, then put it back in the firesafe.

DVD Decrypter is a ripper and a burner.
Imgburn is only a burner.
