With the possible exception of your sub, your speakers all around really should match. If your mains and surrounds don't match but sound o.k. together, I wouldn't take any chances and I'd get the best center from the same model and manufacturer as your fronts.

My receiver is a Sony STR-DE545.It works fantastic.I've had it for about 5 years now.The floor speakers i have are sony's as well and those are ok i guess.I've had those for about 7 years now.Thank god for my sub or else there wouldnt be much of a boom. Eventually i will picking up new floor speakers. Everyone seems to like the paradigm's.
My center speaker is a sony and it came with two rear speakers for $200 canadian. It's ok but i would like a center speaker with more of a crisp sound.Any recommendations?

if its crisp your after, then infinity is your answer !
pricey, yes, but very very clear and crips.
i have a set of paradigm towers, and the rest is polk audio, even my sub, which i am now in the market for a newer, larger one due to my newer receiver.
i am leaning toward a klipsch or a mirage sub !!

it was blood, sweat, and tears... that got me the $$$ to afford those items....
here are my sides...
my surrounds....
my sub... but i am getting a new one soon..
all my speakers are black except for the towers...
and here is my receiver...
http://www.yamaha.com/yec/products/receivers/RXV1500.htm
when i build or buy my next house, i plan on a better home theater room... seats, lighting, projectors, more amps and power, better speakers... the works basically.
all i know is that my wife wants the theater room, but dont care for the $$$ that is to be spent to build it.. she thinks it will all be done for free i guess ! lol

Hello! Yes, they will work. I know you were addressing gear but he's had to leave aD for a while for personal reasons. Just for the heck of it, you might want to look at Crutchfield's web site; they're having a really great sale on fully timber matched speaker sets...yamaha, polk, infinity...lots for really great prices.
Rather than try to explain the importance of timber matching, they do a much better job than I could in Audioholics.com. Or you could also just do a google search...just type in "timber matching". I made a huge mistake in that regard and wasted hundreds of dollars. Look it up dvd_craze and research...it costs nothing and could save you a bundle. Also, once again, check the Crutchfiled web site. I was astoniched at some of the price reductions. Take it easy.
