i recently purchased online from america a network adapter for my ps2 but unfortunaly when i try an automatic setup. it says dnas error 402. I thought it may be the adapter but 402 - stands for invalid media - i got my ps2 from W.A so perhaps if get a PAL version of the setup disc it will fix the problem - do u have any surgestions!

Do you have a modchip? turn it off, dnas checks can detect ya chip, when you boot your ps2 hold down start button before ps2 logo , it should say "disabled"

If he's trying to get online with an original maybe, if he's trying to get online with a backup, then it could be an indication a game isn't patched. Obviously you need to leave he chip operational to get online with a backup.

Well i have tried both backup and orignal games after i tryed but couldnt get passed the network adapter setup i can acess a Lan game but it obvously doesnt work as i can create a game but there is no other hosts to join. Im lead to think that its the setup disc as i have had problems with the same type with the blue back eg. THE SIMS

Did you patch the DNA's for your backup? You can either patch the DNA ID for your backup with the chip enabled or go online with your original with the chip disabled.

A. Any game made after 2003 for the PS2 that is online playable contains one or more image files that has a "disk
DNA checker." The online game server checks your game disk to see if it's the real thing or not. Thus, you have to discover which .img file on the game disc has the checker file.

wheres a good website 4 patching backups 4 online play also
i have an origanal copy of star wars battlefront which
was realeased in 2004 but had the same problem.
