Hey, what's up! I'm new to the freeware - am using DVD decrypter & DVD Shrink, found out about DVD Clone 2 - I will be purchasing that plus Any DVD soon since I have read a lot about peps using it and luving it. Am confused by the different types of media. Which should I use? +R or -R, R+DL. I would like to back up some concert dvds that are 3 or 4 hours long. Would +R DL be good for that or should I stay with -R which is what I have used? Am using Nero. Anyone with advice would be greatly appreciated !! Thanks

If you're going with DL media, then go with Verbatim DVD+R DL (made in singapore), this is top notch media, it rank #1 in my book. Nothing else can top this top dog at the moment.

If you're going for single layer 4.7GB DVD-R or DVD+R, then go with genuine YUDEN, Verbatim "advanced azo or datalife plus" and Maxell (made in japan by Hitachi Corp.), these 3 are consider high quality and rank 1st class media.

You won't be disappointed, just make sure your burner's firmware is up-to-date and you'll be fine. Since you mentioned that you're using Nero to burn, you may want to check to see if your burner supported book type and get DVD+R or DVD+R DL and have Nero "automatically" change the book type into DVD-ROM for better compatibility.

Good luck!!

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

Office Max has a sale on this week on Verbatim 50 pk 16x DVD-R,DVD+R for $14.99 and they have Verbatim DVD+R DL 10 pk for $20.00 Seems like a good deal so I bought them both. How do I check if my burners firmware is up to date?
