In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present.

No. The instant air hits the bottom the seal it changes and whoever sees it will know you voided the warranty.

Were is the seal? I cant find it. I don't need to remove it, I am just interested to know where it is.

If its the same type as the one on standard ps2's then you can color in the see through warranty void message with a black cd marker pen and as long as your careful it will look like its not been peeled off if you push it back down!

We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent...

I opened my psp up withouth removing the seal just lifting the sticker up slightly. I did not VOID it, use a very sharp knife and lift just a little corner of the sticker as that is where the screw you need to remove is. just lift the sticker about 3 mm and youll see the screw hold the knife in place and you can unscrew. My sticker did not do the VOID thing. But ive never sent it back to $ony, so i dont know if it will pass the test. Visiually its perfect

Hmm ok i was thinking that too. I use my sharp knife i cut my finger with last month actually cutting the dvd case for the psp dock. :) Ok I need to get into my psp and try to fix and clean and realine or something to do with fixing my laser. I guess u can run the psp with the cover off. I've seen pics and maybe it will give me a better idea what to work on.

Im one of the guys who opens up everything just to see how it worx.
I must warn you i had no dust in my PSP b4 i opened it up. It was a b**ch and her sister, trying to get the dust out of it. After a while i just decided the little bits were ok. You dont take notice of it afterwards, when a game or movie is on it becomes less noticeable.

Ya I mean I really want to fix this and keep a 1.5, but if they come out with a 2.6 downgrader or iso player I will be extremely happy. But if I need to I'll buy a new psp and just switch em out.

The thing that stops you from changing the shell is the serial number found on the bottom of your psp. This part of the psp is not part of the shell it is the Psps chasis. It looks like it can be removed with a sharp knife but thats one thing im not gonna try. One alternative is to remove the whole drive. The drives on $ony consoles usually come of with laser and all. Maybe you could just change the UMD drive over from a new one. Buy a new Psp overnight change the UMD drive return it next day, and if they say they will give u new one, say its put you off psp and youd rather wait for ps3

So piecefull your saying I don't have to break my warranty seal because I just found out my psp wont read umds because the motor does not spin. Wtf how does the motor conque out. I tested my other psp looked at what spot the wheel was at put umd in spot changed. Tried with broke one spot never changed.

Its playing with fire, you WILL get burnt if you dont handle with care. The hard part is removing the case without voiding the sticker, a sharp knife n lots a care. Refer to PM
