when i play my dvd it plays but it lags

When i put my dvd into the dvd player it loads up fine but it lags through the whole entire movie...does ne 1 know why this happening? any help appreciated

In "my" experience, lagging on playback has occurred when the burn was too fast (only certain titles and with certain dvd players). Slow the burn down and use good quality media. Word of advice - reburn from original or playback will be the same.
