OK...I will be the first. I downloaded the trial version and used it to convert a DVD to an Ipod Video file. The conversion took about 53 minutes, which was fine. However, there was no audio. There is not much that I could do wrong so has anybody else tried this program. I have AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 also. I tried using CloneDVD2 and that worked fine. The video BTW was the sequel of Zorro.

I ran into same problem with CloneDVD mobile. The MPEG-4 file (Legend of Zorro) plays ok in Quicktime but only video appears with no audio. Tried different audio settings with same result. Sent an e-mail to technical support at Slysoft. Will update you when I receive reply.

I wonder if this will support 3gp2 format. I would like to add dvd's to my LG 9800 wireless cell phone.

Same issue here. Then when I scrolled ahead in the movie it would start playing sound. After a few seconds it would freeze then it would play without sound.
But then I went into video settings on Ipod and turned the TV out to: on. Don't know what this did but now I could watch the movies without any problems!
of course the next time I started it, it was not showing the video... so I reset it to off. And its doing the same thing again...
I hope this gets sorted out.
Thanks,
Bill

Has anyone found a solution for this problem? I sent an email to Slysoft Support and their response was to be sure I had the latest Ipod Video firmware. Which I do. Today I tried Second Hand Lions and that worked fine. Clearly some of the videos are in conflict regarding the audio tracks like Legend of Zorro. I want to buy this software but not until I have a solution. Slysoft is pretty good but I am not sure they realize there is a problem yet. The audio problem is independent of the Ipod as there is none in either Itunes or Quicktime.

This is not an firmware issue with iPod.
I agree with dhoward that the audio problem with CloneDVD Mobile is specific to certain titles such as Legend of Zorro. I just converted The Corpse Bride to Mp4 and the resultant file played perfectly on the Quicktime player from start to finish.
I suspect that there is a problem with the codec software being used to compress the audio information.
No doubt, Slysoft will resolve the problem and will soon provide us with a fix. I plan to hold off purchasing the product until it becomes more reliable.

rogercan, I agree also that whatever is wrong is related to certain movies and not the Ipod. It is not across the board. I tried The Brother's Grimm and like Legend of Zorro it had no audio. However three other movies I tried worked fine and had audio. I did try both Zorro and Brother's Grimm with Nero Recode in Sony PSP format. They both worked fine with the Ipod and the QT player. I am glad there is a 21 day free trial as I was considering a purchase. However I plan to wait until Slysoft acknowledges the problem first. Hopefully the discount will still apply inside the 21 day free trial. Right now I am not sure what advantge this program will give me over Nero Recode...but I will wait and see.

CloneDVD Mobile Audio Sync
quote
SlySoft Team Member
There are three possible reasons for this problem.
1.) The source DVD is Arccos or Macrovision RipGuard protected, and you did not use AnyDVD. In this case, the Audio will be out of sync right from the beginning.
2.) The source DVD has interleaved blocks. I don't think there are many DVDs on the market using interleaved blocks apart from multi-angle DVDs. The most prominent example would be "The Matrix" original release (I don't know if the re-release has them).
There is a bug in CloneDVD mobile, interleaved blocks which are not part of multi angles (e.g. StarWars Episode I,II & III or Die another Day use multi angles, so the interleaved blocks here are no problem) will be skipped, but the audio will continue to run. After the interleaved part is finished, the audio will be out of sync for the duration of the missing picture.
3.) Your player (hardware) does not like the framerate. For example, the PSP can only play Videos with 29.97 frames/seconds. If you encode with a different rate, e.g. 25 frames/second, the picture will play too fast but the sound will play normal = running out of sync, and the error will increase.
You have to check what the cause for your problem is. If the Audio is out of sync from the beginning, and the "offset" stays the same: Use AnyDVD.
If the Audio is out of sync in the middle of the movie (after a specific point): Wait for an update. Sorry.
If the audio "drifts" more and more, you probably need to specify a different framerate in the "Devices.ini" file. You should contact our support, so we can add a new entry for your device.

With regards to your suggestions.
1. I did use AnyDVD.
2. Can't comment on this.
3. Not a player problem. Video work fine in ITune viewing, Quicktime viewing and Ipod viewing. All on the computer. In all 3 cases no audio. Not a question of out of sync. Just no audio.
I have used Nero Recode and the trial version of PQDVD. Both work fine. In Nero I select Sony PSP format as that works fine on the Ipod. I have also made backups using CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD latest versions. The problem is in the Mobile software. Some DVDs work some don't.

I have been in conversation with Slysoft support via email regarding these problems. I just installed their latest revision. Now Zorro has audio. Unfortunately the other movie that was not responding correctly, Brother's Grimm, still has no audio. They are making progress. How many other people are having problems and with what movies?

I had the same issue with Zorro. This appears to have been fixed with the latest release.
On Novacane (Steve Martin) I get a green bar at the bottom of the screen on some scenes. Really odd. I don't see this on other movies. I have not tried this title with the latest ver.
IMHO video quality is lacking considering the iPOD is capable of 320x240@768kbps. The ones I have compressed using Nero Recode are of much better quality, but I've always liked the easy-click interface of CloneDVD. I wonder if this will be addressed?
I use all the other excellent Slysoft products and I hope to see improvements to this cool new product.

clone mobile has a quality slider to adjust the quality. default quality is 23, but you can set it much higher.
The fact that no one understands you doesn't mean you're an artist.

Yes, you can certainly adjust it but the highest bit rate still doesn't come close to 768kbps. It's probably okay for most people, but I do see some shading artifacts in particular at the lower bit rate.
I did get a reply from Slysoft about modifying the device.ini file, but I've not been able to find any documentation.
The latest Feb. release of Nero Recode has more support for the Apple iPOD. At this point it appears I'll be sticking with Nero.

Based on my past history with Slysoft products I purchased Mobile. I also have Nero Recode
and among other things it seems that recode converts a DVD movie in the order of 3x faster
then Mobile. I converted Transporter 2 with Mobile and it took 53 minutes. With Nero it took
15 minutes. Why is Mobile so much slower. In Nero I used the PSP profile.

I converted Green Street onto my PSP using AnyDVD and Clonemobile and the picture is perfect but the sound is similar to a badly edited Japanese movie. Every time someone speaks the sound is slightly slower than the lip movement, however this stays constant throughout.
Can anyone help?

CloneDVD-Mobile has an option to add subtitle the default is none or off. Works great, Rip DVD video to HD with AnyDVD to make sure you will get the whole video. Using the latest version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD-Mobile... Works for me any way.. Hope this helps.
Would like to know what all the other options are. using generic right now. Just curious. There is probably a explanation for all of them, just over looked or to excited about how well the option using works.
