Hello. I've transfrered a few video files to 16:9 Widecreen Format using TMPGENC xpress and author software which I've just purchased. I use the settings, vbr, widescreen format 16:9 720 x 480 and choose best for encoding quality. I'm very happy with the output, plays flawlessly in my 2 standalone players. I just noticed once thing though. I estimate about 10% of the left and right is missing causing the playback in my sand alone players to loose that much picture on each side. As I compaired them further, the top and bottom is also effected the same way but barely noticable, I estimate 1%. I'm trying something new now, in tempgenc filters resize vieo, I'm selected custom center and took 10% from both vertical and Horizonal changing the ratio to 648 x 432 and selecting 6:9 720x480 in the output. I checked the preview video and it has put a black bar at the top and bottom, I'm guessing and hoping that the black bar will be the part mising in the final output(I may have to tweak the & a little). But the rest of the video will be there. It's still encoding now so I don't know the final output yet. I've checked through fourms and I can't find a good guide to resizing and frankly it's confusing me. If anyone can tell me if I'm headed in the right direction and also let me know where a good guide is for resizing. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

ok I think I've got a handle one it. Resizing the Picture in the filters section of TMPGEnc from the default 720 x 480 - 10% to 648 x 432 seemed to have resized the dvd to fit my screen and still keep the aspect ratio. It's slightly margind on the right and left so I think I will try 9% next time but at least I'm headed in the right direction.
