V3 not being rocognized..or somthing?

so i have mpt 3.11, and i tryed with 3.4 ..i have the p2k drivers..i'm using a typical usb cable, the same thing happend with both programs...it takes about 5 minutes to search for the phone ..then it tells me the phone is "locked" and then it brings up another phone(like on the desktop, a picture of a phone) and said "initializing"....is it my sim card that is locked..would i have to call my service provider? its a motorla V3 razr..i've run out of ideas somebody help me out please!
