mod chipped ps2 not working!

Hi just got a mod chipped ps2 and it was working fine until one day i put in a disc and it went to the original screen with the screen saying browsing and all. it happens with original discs, import discs, and burned discs. What is the problem with my ps2 and can anyone help me fix it. It would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like your laser died... you'll need to replace it

LOL!! sony won't replace it you voided your warranty. It will cost you A GOOD $100 or more.

Or.. just replace the coils and the diode inside the laser which i'm getting done for only £35..
