burned madagascar with shrink and dvd43 just like all movies but madagascar will only play on the pc and not stand alone player. any help will be appreciated.no errors copying just no playback on stand alone.

Try to re-burn the backup using a lower speed (4X).

Read the manual for your stand alone player and check to see what media it's compatible with, use only media that's recommended by the manufacturer to burn your backups on.

If your still having playback problems, try booktyping/bitsetting the disks. Since DVD-ROM disks are the most compatible format, booktyping fools the player into recognizing the disk as a DVD-ROM allowing it to play correctly. In order to do this your burner must support this function and booktyping can only be done to DVD+R media. Nero, DVD Decrypter, and Imgburn can all perform this function, if your unable to determine that your burner supports this feature, I believe you can still try it but will receive an error if it can't be done.
