I bought a PS2 not only for the fun of new games, but also for the old games from PSX. I have quite a collection of the PSX games, used to play them on my PC with emulators.
The problem is that my PS2 doesn't seem to see the PSX memory card. I have a original memory card and it works perfectly on other PS2's, just not mine.
The only thing that came into my mind was that the mod chip is causing the problem. I have a Infinity chip installed, but after turning it off I still cannot use my PSX mem.card.
Funny thing is that the PSX games see the memory card, but won't save. I get warning messages like: there is no room on mem.card, it needs to be formatted, etc.
I have a PS2 slim, SCPH-70004 model.

If anyone has heard of a solution to my problem, I'd be gratefull!

Tough one that . . . . . .. .
Nah only kidin your memory slots sound like they are full up, load up your ps2 without a game in or with the disc tray open and with your mem card in then select ur mem card icon and delete sum slots.

Thanks paul1085,
but that's not the case.
You see the memory cards (I have bought a second one) for PSX don't even show in the PS2's browser.
And I have checked them on a different PS2 - they are empty and working.
Have You ever heard of s similar example?
I want to check all possibilities before taking my PS2 to service.

I've had some expieirience, I had a Slimline, and I wanted to play Metal Gear Solid, on my slimline, it said, i need more block's. So I turn off and check the memory card, it wasnt shown on the browser (I have a 3rd party memory card for psx). Than I went to my ps1 (long time no see :D) And I Deleted most of the old games i didnt play, and i put it back on my ps2 and it work,

Note* - Sometime's, you have to pull it a bit for the memory card to work, dont push it in too far.

Good Luck!

Thanks 3dluis,
but the trick with pulling the memory card out a bit didn't work with me :( I even tried to pull it slighty and restarting my PS2 a few times, until the mem.card actually fell out by itself :/ No results, all I get is a "No Data" message in the browser...
(both of my mem.cards: 3rd party and original sony)
geagear have You tried it?
It seems that we have the same version of PS2. Do You have a mod chip installed? If yes, what kind? Maybe it has something to do with it...
