I recently started using a Flip Top for my PS2 and I've been having a few problems. I'm using the swap magic 3.6 plus dvd disc and getting to the main load menu just fine. When I switch the disc and start it up though I can hear it spinning just fine. Then it says that it cannot recognize it as a valid PS2 disc. I've tried an import, a back-up, and even a normal game but it will not work with any of them. When I just load a game from the tray it's fine but whenever I use the flip-top it never loads. Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong or if I installed something wrong?

Sit a phone book on top of the lid while loading games. See if that helps. It did for me.

Still no go. It just keeps spinning but the game never loads.

What I did was bend the edges of my Disc Nipple(Little white thing that goes inside the fliptop) and no more sounds and SMD works great!

What do you mean by bend? Do you mean just bending the edges towards the tray?

Bend the Edges up so it doesnt scratch the flip tops holder therefore it wont slow down the disc reading speed
