Any problems with Media Center?

Sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere, but I searched and didn't find anything.

I'm thinking about getting/building a new PC. I seem to remember hearing rumblings that there were issues in Windows Media Center when trying to backup DVDs. I currently use several programs for that, including AnyDVD, CloneDVD2, Shrink, DVDFab Decrypter. Most of the new pre-built PCs in the performance range I'm looking at have Media Center, and don't want to buy one that won't do what I want it to do. Any advice?
