HI! i've tried to burn a three hour movie but my recorder does not accept this type of dvd. why? (it's new if that helps). Also i've tried to zip the movie in order to record it in a dvd-r (4.7gb) but nero showed me a message for not approving the zipped file. What can i do to copy this movie? Thanks to anyone that will answer.

You have to have a dl (dual layer) burner to use a dl disk. Are you trying to make the movie play on a stand alone dvd player or just put on a data disk for storing? If you just want to just store the movie on a dvd the zipped file sould work but you have burn to a data disk with Nero. If you want it to play on a stand alone dvd player try DVD Shrink.
