Hey There...

Newbie here on the block, this hobby is so addictive I can't even begin saying how much I am loving this...

Story is this - Old Dell Optiplex GX110 computer junked from work, Pentium 3-500, 128 Mb's of Ram, 8 GB's hard drive... Compact form factor case, so I couldn't do much with it, until I noticed that it had two full-sized PCI slots in the back of it... Added Firewire Card (US$ 30), External Verbatim DVD-R+ drive ( @ Fry's 160) and an encasing for it (69), firewire connection seems to be working absolutely wonderful for this computer and basically it's only got a fresh clean install of Windows ME and the DVD-X-Copy and Norton System Works... Can rip a DVD copy in about an hour with it (not really in a big hurry) and it works well in combination with my Apex 2100 DVD player...

My old Zip CD 4X has served me well over the years... Well, it probably will for a couple more years, but I think that as the prices of DVD's fall behind and people need more storage space, I am happy to say that I am planning to use this for a very very very very long time!!!
