Those prices for those are kind of..well expensive, but its worth it if they do send you movies quickly and you can see 20-30 movies a month. Has anybody tried any of these companies out, and if so, what are they like?

Does anyone know if you can cancel your subscription on a Saturday? I know they won't mail anything, but is there staff on hand to cancel you?

Thanks

yes you can cancel anytime , you will have like 7 days to mail back the dvds you have out when you cancel. just cancel the day before there going to charge you for the next month. and you dont have to call just cancel online in your account. easy as that ,screw netflix

Guy in my office said today that Netflix was sueing because BB ripped off their "dvds by mail" concept. Guess they should have include Wally World in the suit also.

I thought you did not have rights to ideas like this...Isn't this something like Tetris, where making a game with falling blocks is allowed as long as it does not have "tris" anywhere in the name (i.e. no one can own the rights to falling blocks in a game, but someone owns the rights to use "tris" in a game of this nature)??

If this is the case, Netflix is only losing money by doing this, so this means more throttling for their members!!

yeah the law suit will go nowhere with BB and i also read netflix has a class action law suit against them for "throttling" which they pretty much admit they do. why cant they just have two different price points for there service ,one for a limit of say 12 movies for the 17.99 price then unlimited movies for say 24.99 a month ,i pay it

Sorry to reply to a dated message, but intelliflix is BY FAR the worst service of all. I recieved 4 broken (like literally cracked in half and glued) out of the first 9 movies they sent me. Ridiculous. never again....

I always get my movie in 1day. But somehow this one movie didn't came for 3days. Guess what folks, someone freaking opened it and watched it and returned it. The usps put it in envolop and said damage. WTF the reason it was DAMAGE is because someone open the dvd.

I've had the exact same experience with throttling. The only thing good I can say about Netflix is that they have a large selection.

If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

Is netflix still throttling high volume users?

YES YES YES they still do. I've hit the limit with dealing with these people, If you go back to the first few posts on this thread, it will show I was a new customer then. Now for instance the regional place I ship everything back to is a hour and half drive to Cleveland Oh. and from the past, shown to be capable of next day service wether it be returns aor deliveries. I sent 3 movies back Monday, they recieved them Wednesday, but they are only sending 1 to me, and maybe the others will get here B4 the weekend hopefully.
Where did my other 2 go? Why not send 3 back at the same time. I'm about to the point of cancellation.

12 does seem like the limit, even using that turnaround calculator posted before, http://www.manuelsweb.com/netflixcalculator.htm prooved it out.
I have thought about switching over, I'm just waiting for a few hard to find films to be sent and then I just might.

I've been using Amazon for nearly a year to rent movies, they are spot on. I have only had 2 or 3 dvds that were damaged, but they replace them ASAP. As soon as they receive my sent back dvds, they send my next ones out, no delay..Would recommend them to anyone.....

My son switched from netflix to BB this past weekend. He was tired of not getting what he wanted. I've been with BB since I started.

Well the service I use costs £9.99 per month, for that you get 6 per month & 3 at home at any time. But, if you pay an extra £1.99, you can get an extra dvd per month, you only still get 3 at a time, but as many a month as you wish to pay for.
Just as soon as they get them back, they send you out your next titles. The service really is spot on. The amount of titles available is awesome, basically if they have it on sale, you can rent it. (With the execption of region 1 dvds, the UK is region 2 of course..!.)

I am in the UK, if I am not mistaken, you are in the US? I am not sure if the American Amazon do the same thing.
Just been on the American Amazon, I cannot see that option.... Major bummer.

Wow, I seem to be the exception to the rule here as far as netflix goes. I always try to keep at least 60 movies in my queue. I have been a customer for very close to a year and can say I am satisfied with their service. I had to report Fargo as recieved broken twice, on the third time recieving a good copy, each replacement was sent out on the day I reported the original as broken. I don't get as many movies a month as I used to but I am way slower in getting them back in the mail as I used to be!

I've had two movies I returned supposedly lost in the mail but they gave me no hassle over them whatsoever. Maybe I'm lucky here, but overall I don't think netflix is too bad.

MS Windows XP MCE SP2, Intel P4 3.20 GHz, 2.0 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce FX5600, Seagate 7200 rpm 200GB HDD, Sony SDMHS93 19" LCD, Field Value

Not too bad I agree, its just the fact that it says UNLIMITED 3 at a time for 17$ a month when in actuality they do their part to keep the process down. To their credit, 12 movies for 17$ is still cheaper than the rental store, and they have a better selection. If they came out and said "heres the deal" than I'd probably stay signed up. Their claims dont hold up and as a consumer I dont like being misled.
