Hi Chuyo, just saw you improved guide with pics. Great guide. I have installed everything as described and all works well. However, It seems like ISO files cannot be played. Tried a few of them. But the CSO files I have no problems. Tried different setting with the devhook still same. Any suggestions?

mmmm that never happen to me , i can play my ISO's without any problem...
did you trie to change the UMD-MODE in DevHook? i think it should be Image+AnyUMD
Wich game is it?

Yes, I did. Don't make sense too as CSO is just the compressed version of ISO. I am new here, I go look around in the forum to see there is a fix.

chuyo, you are great. can you update the link again? The download stopped at 36%, so I cancelled it and reconnected it, but ever since then, the link is not more working.

u will need to get a 2.71 fw dump and place all the files in the folder DH/2.71(flash)

Help! followed exactly as said. Go to launch Devhook for 2.71 launcher with O button for first time and nothing happens. When selecting with X, PSP restarts I get a black screen for a couple of seconds and then get the bluescreen with "the game cannot be started (80020148). Do i need to have the UMD in at this point? What could be causing this?

one more thing - when launching the HENC - the PSP goes red for a few seconds then turns off but doesnt restart itself, have to power up manually. Have tried a couple of times

have noticed that in the pictures there are 8 files in the MS root, an extra primm and odd.bin - where have these come from cause they arent on mine?

i did all u said and now it all works fine!!!!!
ive not had 1 game that does not work yet!!!!!
and ive now downloaded 67 games in the last 4days,
because ive only got a 1gig memory card i can only have 1 game at a time, with some games thow i can have 2.
i mostley use .cso, but with some games can make them a bit choppy, like gta vice city, has gota be .iso.

hi there, just alittle help if anyone can, I got to DEVHOOK0.4X launcher for 2.71 part to take my psp from 2.71 to 1.5 and I dint get the menu screen to select the Firmware I just got the error "The game could not be started (80020148).....
I have a psp 1002 the motherboard is a 1C6001
I upgraded from 2.50 to 2.60 then to 2.71 and now trying to downgrade to 1.50
anyone have any ideas why I wont goto the menu screen to select the 1.50 Firmware?

Great guide. I recently bought my PSP and was browsing the net when I saw this guide (and had to try it).
I have a everything working now but there is a strange thing happening though. You mention that you need to select firmware 2.71 and not the 2.71(nand flash) when you load up an ISO in "devhook0.4x for 2.71". However, when I do this the ISO doesn't load up. But, when I try loading it with the 2.71(nand flash) firmware the ISO works fine. Any ideas on this?
I found another guide that does the same thing as yours but uses HenD instead of HenC and I ended up using HenD. Would that make a difference?
Also, I was wondering if in the future (for some reason) I wanted to update my firmware, would it still be possible? I know the Hen programs write something in the flash memory once (from what I understand), but does that screw up your firmware for future updates?
Thanks again for the guide. Made my PSP worth way more than what I spent on it :)

Hi zanjue, im glad this tutorial work for you and about the HENC and HEND, i really dont know, i just use HENC.

I think u can, im not totally sure, but if u change yor firmware u will not be able to use Henc and the DevHook Loader.

Got home from work and formatted by memory stick to redo everything and now it's working as expected (I can load ISO's with the 2.71 firmware instead of the 2.71 flash one). I still have no idea what happened the first though...
