If you can hear sound, then it's just cos your screen light is turned off. Try pressing the screen light button. A couple of buttons along from the START button. It looks like a monitor symbol (an oblong shape). Hope this helps. Cheers, Lee.

Nope. its harder to downgrade, once it is on 1.5, its the same as all other motherboards.

The psp runs on a flash memory chip, as do many other electrical devices like mobile phones. when a mobile phone or a psp is being reflashed to a newer firmware, the files are deleted and replaced by the new ones, and by turning the power off, you only put a certain amount of files on to the flash chip, causing corrupt data which cannot be used without the rest of the files being their, theirfore the psp unit cannot be booted. its not a scam by sony, im sure if a company raking in billions a year put a virus on their own umd's, they would lose millions upon millions being sued for criminal damages. your just a retard who doesnt know anything about modern technology. if you can get your hands on a motherboard cable, which no one has, apart from 1 in a thousand people, you could unbrick you psp. or, you could send it to a guy on ebay who fixes it for £30 / $60. please dont write retarded things like that again, it just reminds me of how stupid people are. come on - a scam? i know taking the piss out of someone is against rules, but come one? this is just plain stupid!

Oh, actually i dont know him, my cousin does, (he own a software buisness(. and i just found out he doesnt own sont the company, he works for it, but he owns the channel sony. its this weird asian channel. his brother does something to do with sony in canada and america. why would i realy talk crap about something like that, that would only be the works of a social misfit trying to heigten their social status in a community by talking shit. although i see why you would think im lying, their are alot of weirdos on the internet talking crap.

Ok, well your PSP's definitly bricked, but there is a way to fix a bricked PSP! it does require you buy a cable, and i don't know a lot about this. Underneath the battery there is a label, underneath this label is a little hole with 3 pin holes that look like something can be plugged into them. These holes are a direct link to your flash0 and flash1 on your psp (the 'un-accessable' storage of your psp's firmware). Now apparantly you can buy a usb cable that go's from your pc to these pins so that you can access the flash 0 and flash 1 on your pc. Once you have this cable you can just copy a friends flash0 and flash1 files and copy them onto your PSP. Your PSP's firmware should appear identicle to your friends.
Problem solved.
Splid, if that's true, the flash0 and flash1 being in the battery, couldn't you just switch an old battery for a new one?
This is TG or TeamGleeson trying to make :TG 3.40 H-CAP.
Let's help each other.

Hang on, my bad. I feel like a moron. You said underneath the battery. Well, at any rate, your right, the hole is there. Right underneath the warranty void if damaged sticker. I'm looking into the cable now.

if it's 3 pin hole then it's not as easy as you would think. usb connector are 2 pin connections, so connecting the 3rd pin is tricky, unless you know what it does. (i doubt it's just grounding.)
