I just don't think anyone knows the answer man. One thing I can say for sure is that your PCI card is probably not right. There is a compatibility chart floating around there somewhere that would tell you for sure, I just can't remember where I found it.
Go to newegg.com and get the right card. It should cost less than $20 and will likely solve your issue.
Oh one other thing I forgot to say is that many Hitachi drives are simply total pieces of shit that will not read copied games period regardless of whether they are flashed properly. Mine was like that. It would read copied games about once every three times, then finally just wouldn't boot them at all and give me the classic "open tray" message. After trying to replace the laser, trying a million other little tricks and getting frickin' nowhere, I finally broke down two days ago and swapped it out for a BenQ. Works like a dream.
So, it could just be the drive itself. Hitachi can kiss my ass for making such shitty drives.
