Quote: Seems odd that it won't accept all the VOBs, hence my suggestion to try it with one large (merged) one.
DVDFlick will not accept the large 4GB file either
Quote: With Shrink did you use 'Movie only'?
i know of no such setting in DVDShrink. unless ur refering to RipIt4Me, in which case, no. id prefer having the menues if at all possible.
Quote: Will the large VOB play on your computer? You could also try renaming the .VOB to .mpg.
the large .VOB file will play on my comp fine tho the aspect ratio is off. converting to .mpg did not allow it to load in DVDFlick either, w/ the same error message.

as it stands for the codec, i reinstalled K-lite Codec Pack v3.8.0 making sure mpeg-2 codec was selected but DVDFlick will not accept the large .VOB file.
im not sure that the file is corrupted, cuz itll play fine on my comp's dvd player, or VLC, unless there something more im missing in this regard.
here's where i d/l the .iso file to beginning w/ http://isohunt.com/torrent_details/17408112/hackers?tab=summary maybe u could try it urself and see whats up? assuming that ur in north america aswell.

hi,
does anyone know if there is a solution to keep intact all of the menus, etc when burning the ISO?
Also, are the methods outlined in this thread deemed to be the most effective when trying to convert PAL ISO to NTSC?

frankly, if i was in ur shoes simply loading the IOS file into ImgBurn or DVDShrink and selecting what u do and dont want, including menues, is what i would do.
and this thread may in fact help u w/ the PAL/NTSC issue, but it did not help me cuz i think the DVD player i had was a piece of poop. i got another, better player and it worked.

i was thinking of opening the ISO in WinRAR as Rotary mentioned and attempting to extract the contents, then loading them into a program like DVDFlick or ConvertXtoDVD and choosing NTSC as the output. My main 'problem' at this point is getting the all of the files properly converted to NTSC so they will play in my standalone. i also like the idea of keeping all the menus and such but if i can only get the main movie i guess that will do. anyone know the reason why the menus and stuff cannot be kept ? does the output get too large if you attempt to keep everything ?

No, the reason why the menus can't be kept is because the programs(CVX2DVD or DVD Flick) can't process them, just the main movie. They will make a new menu for you though, if you wish.
