if you are going to record just remember you have to watch what you record as its not a twin tuner
and my advice stay away from the pvr units as they are crap and have lots of problems

ive got a freeview tuner in my tv so i can watch another channel whilst recording but i understand i wont be able to watch one of the starview channels.
my main problems were in the earlier questions about recordings.

yes you can set it but it depends on the epg on the box
some have a good epg some dont some have a 7 day some at best have 3/4 days so thats what you have to consider

im not excatly sure mate to be honest but you know cable comes and goes if you record that much i would suggest you get either vir** + or SLY +
thats is what i would do rather than take a chance on a epg recording on any cable box

thats like asking someone the lottery numbers, no ones knows mate, if you interested in buying a box, go for the Kryptview, better box, better pic quality, correct aspect ratio, better support etc,

The USB memory key is primarily used to pause live tv.
If you want to use a USB key to record programmes tou can fit
approx 3.5 hours on a 4gb Usb key and approx 7.5 hrs on an 8GB stick.
The video is recorded in non standard file format though, so if you want to transfer to dvd you will have to convert it.

sc0user, Do you know where I can get instructions to view and change the codes on the Starview 4 USB. I was able to change the codes on my old Starview 3 PVR. Also do you know where I can get instructions on Upgrading the software version. I have downloaded the file.
Appreciate you help if you can.

Press Menu and enter 1570 via keypad on remote, Cas System menu will appear, go down to Keycode on turn to ON <> with arrow button and exit out to TV and you should be okay, that is presuming that you have the latest Firmware on your box - UK.

Hey. Does anybody know where I would pick up a "the box" usb decoder? I don't mind second hand - I have an analog input into the house and would like to boost the reception in the Kids room. It is not worth stg 80 to me for this.
Thanks
