Hd advance/Hdloader helps to reduce laser wear/tear?

is this suppose to help reduce the wear and tear of the ps2 right?
but everytime if you need to load games , you need to use the hdadvance/hdloader dvd to startup,won't that be the same as loading from the disc?

yes, but it only reads the hdadvance disc for a few seconds. If you were playing your games off the disc, the ps2 would be reading the disc the whole time your playing. Once you start playing a game off your hd, the ps2 stops reading the hdadvance disc (you can even eject it if you want).
