I have Vegas, and I would like to know how to join up a gap (after deleting portion of video). eg: I delete section of video/audio and that leaves a gap, how do I remove this gap without pulling in the video from the right side. What command can I use. I am looking for something that is opposite to the insert time command.

Try Highlighting then Cutting all the Video on the Right side of the Gap and then Pasteing it so it properly Joins up with the Video on the Left Side??

I also do not see why you can"t just Grab the Video and Slide it over so there is no gap?? If you do it Properly it will not Stretch the Video that you are Dragging.....

Cheers

I have many pieces of video. If it were only 1 piece video then of course I would just grab it and drag it to the left, but with so mnay bits and pieces of diff clips, its a pain. I am surprised they do not have a function which would do exactly opposite of insert.
So what happens is that I have already joined all the clips of film, now I decide to edit and remove a piece of film and that leaves a gap, i need to close it. I don't want to grab all these clips of film and drag it to the left and do what I did initially. (144 clips man).

It's really easy. After deleting the portion of video that you wanted to remove, simply:
click on EDIT
move cursor over POST EDIT RIPPLE
then click on All TRACKS, MARKERS, AND REGIONS.
