i need some help with dvd shrink. twice in the last week i have had the same error come up when trying to shrink dvd's. it happened when trying 'layer cake' and 'are we there yet'.
the full error is:

dvd shrink encountered an error and cannot continue

failed to read "E:\".

the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error

can anyone explain why this has happened.
i have been using dvd shrink for over 2 years with no such problems

Shrink cannot do these movies on its own it cannot handle newer protection. Download the free DVDFab Decrypter and rip to your HDD and then process the file with Shrink.

Here is an easy guide for DVDFAb and Shrink, if you burn with Nero just disregard the references to DVD Decrypter.

Yes there are still many movies that Shrink can handle, but when you start coming up with these types of errors with Shrink it is definitely protection and it is best to use DVDFab to rip.

Data error (cyclic redundancy check)
DVD Shrink will just disappear
Error code "Exception occured"
Error code "Failed to open file - The system cannot find the file specified"
Error code "Invalid DVD navigation structure"
Error code "Out of memory"
Windows system error
Your PC is freezing
