Does anybody know how to backup the Max Drive Pro Disc? I want to backup the Disc and create an .iso file and burn the .iso. I don't want my kids to damage the original disc. That is why I want to backup the Max Drive Pro disc. I tried but my Viper Extreme stop reading the disc and stopped at about 32K.

If pressing the disc a special way prevents people from backing up the game, I am surprised that Nintendo has not done the same process to their game discs.

When I try to backup the AR Max Drive Pro GC disc I get a "Communication Error" that says "Cobra BIOS USB remote is not responding" and the .iso file is only 32,716Kb. This happens when I use the Full Option.
When I use the Fast Option on Cobra 1.6 it backs up the full .iso with a file size of 1,425,760Kb.
I burned this file to a Ritek mini DVD-R disc. I boot the GC using Original GC BIOS and then it goes to blank screen. Nothing happens. I need to find out how to back using the Full Option. I know that will work. I don't trust the Fast backup option.

mate what i mean is u can get the disk to back up like the AR disks etc but there is no point the unmodified cube they are going to try the disk on at their friends house cant read a burnt coppy of the MDP boot disk, the Disk is pressed a special way for it to be read on an unmodified cube so copping it will be pointless. sorry for not being very clear on the above posts had a late night and a few beers... not a good mix

With the FreeLoader.dol you don't need the AR Max Drive Pro GC disc? Will it load a backup straight from the memory card?
Another question, All I need is th Max Drive Pro.dol? I put this .dol on the memory card and boot from there? No MDP GC disc required? Is this true?

I see that the torrents are no longer active and that these files are not huge. They can be e-mailed.

Hi all, i did not mean to create a little confusion regarding .dols for FreeLoader & Max Drive Pro.
Firts of all, Max Drive Pro has the capability to load homebrew code (i.e. .dols) from the Max Drive Pro Memory Card.
I downloaded FreeLoader torrent weeks ago and when i unzipped it there was an .iso and .dol, i then put that .dol into the MDP memory card and launched to see it working just as an original disk would.
BTW FreeLoader 1.06 b.dol is just 269KB only compressed with dollz3.0 or something.
Hope it helps

Is there another loader with a .dol I can load onto my memory card and .iso I can burn to disc that I can use similar to the MDP GC disc?

The reason I ask because the Freeloader.dol is not an active torrent anymore, or is there a website I can download it from?

grrrr looking at all your other posts u are one very confused man.
there is no point in backing up this disk at all, as u said this is for your kids to take to a friends house ,Correct. if so thier friend dosnt have a modified cube. if you back up the max drive pro boot disk the back up wont be able to be read on ur kids friends unmodified cube. i have tried this when i tried backing up Action Replay and it does not work at all, so basically u are trying to do some thing that cant be done. if u dont trust ur kids with the original disk then y give it to them or try buying the original game?

Let me make this simple:
You need the original MDPro disc if you wanna play anything burned with the MDPro, even a burned copy of the MDPro disc itself. There's no point of having a backup MDPro disc unless you bought it direct from codejunkies.

I did buy my MDP disc from direct from codejunkies but I want to back it up to take care of it and not let my kids scratch it. How do I rip a copy of it? Is there a .iso of it on the net or a torrent to download it? That is all I am asking for.

If you try to use the backup Max Drive Pro disc on an unmodified Gamecube, it won't boot. It's a backup. It doesn't matter what's ON the disc, it will not boot in an unmodified system. That's the point people are trying to make.
You could have a million backups, but if you're trying to use them to boot someone else's gamecube, it won't work.

OK Since you won't listen to reason just take my word for it: A backup of an MDPro disc is the most worthless thing. THere is no point whatsoever in backing it up.
A backed up version of MDPro disc will not load on your kids' friends' gamecube! Only the original one will? And you alrdy have a modchip which, if stopped working, your backup would be useless again?
So your kids friends can't use the backup and you can't use it. Why waste a minidvd?

Ok. I get it. That was the whole reason for me getting the MDP. So I can play backups. A backup will not play backups. Right.

no no man, a GC cant read copied games unless u use a Mod-chip. in this case you wanted to make a back-up of the disc and give it to your kids. it wont work becuase certine sectors of the disc are unreadable/unburnable by a burner, so it wont be able to burn them making the disc unreadable by the GC. It won't boot them without those sectors present. also the GC has failsafes against copies, int his case its the Barcode. the disc needs this to boot games. if you have a mod-chip(overrides the reader settings on the GC) or some way to get around this (like GCOS), they wont work other wise.
when you copy a game the barcode is not copied, thats were a mod-chip or the SD card app. GCOS come in. they override the GC settinga and allow bootlegs/back-ups to boot.
