DVD-AVI TV Season Question???

greetings,

i have an entire season of a particular TV show on 5 separate dvd's. How do I create separete .avi files per episode?

i haven't had much succes searching here and/or the internet for this exact question... but have found lots on ripping movies.

i am running XP(Pro/SP2) & Ubuntu 5.10 on an Intel i386 chipset.
