Swap magic won't work

A friend gave me a Swap Magic disk. All he gave me was the disk. I had to make up the pieces to press the senors down. Got that done. I put the disk in, it spins for like 10 seconds and the screen tells me to insert a play station or play station to formated disk. Then does nothing. I have to shut off to restart. What is up here? Is there some thing wrong with the disk(probably why he gave it to me). I have a slim PS2. I went to modchip's web site and they show 2 disks. Is there 2 or 1, cause all I have is one disk. Thanks

i am absolutely no expert whatsoever;), but i do know there are 2 discs: 1 cd loader and 1 dvd loader

thanks for the reply. I think I have the right disk, cause it tells me to please insert a play station or play station 2 formated disk. But what is the next step. It just stays there. Is it suppost to load some thing else. The top is open so I tried to put a burned game in and press a bunch of buttons, but nothing happens.

Ok guys I have called my friend and it is a burned copy. He even put a label on that looked like the actual one. So that is why it won't work. So I will have to buy it then. I thought he was giving me a actual copy of it. Where is a good place to buy Swap Magic? Also this may sound dumb, but is this legal? I don't want to get in trouble for buying the disks. Thanks

I have read that the v12 ps2 needs the laser mod so is there any place that sells both. Easier to buy both in one spot. Thanks guys. You have all been very helpful. I just found this site today and so far you are all great here.
