Different software, Alcohol converts the bin/cue files as well. Nero Vision will convert and burn. DivXtoDVD was a good app, it's been upgraded to ConvertXtoDVD.

Probably no difference as most players play both + and -R media. Check your standalone to make sure. I've run into that occasional exception. +R makes a difference if you have a burner that will booktype. Booktyping to DVD ROM theoretically makes the +R universally compatible on all players as DVD ROM is the universal format for DVD players. -R won't booktype. But there are a lot of drives that don't booktype and most players play multiple formats. Actually, booktyping only helps a small percentage of the users. For some it has a placebo effect. ;)

Nero Vision converts most files. The new NV 4 in Nero 7 has an easier interface than NVE3; at least imo. On the Nero website there are guides for the different Nero programs plus several help threads going here at AD.
