Ok, i just recently bought a modchip for my ps2 (PnP Key) and i could'nt get it to work. As it turns out the chip itself is faulty. Before i found out it was faulty i stupidly thought that flipping the 7-wire ribbon maybe would miraculously cure this problem. Unfortunately it did something bad and know i cant get the system to start up at all. I was wondering if anyone here has ever done the same thing, and if so, what did i do? Did i kill the system completely or maybe just the ribbon itself?

Never buy the pnp key I did Iended up frieng my ps2 same with four other people so far on this site they are junk. Would you mind telling me where you got it. Also its your motherboard what version do you have of ps2. Anyways if you get it fixed make a fliptop just take a saw make a giant 6 inch around hole and remove the top off your dvd drive in the ps2 and force the white disk out keep it out then put it together then whenever you want to play set the white disk on top of your cd

Wanna play youtube on your psp heres my guide http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/552565#3342784

Better still - why not just buy a fliptop?????? hmmmmmmm

@wethles - flipping? do you mean swapping end to end? if yes this should not cause any damage to your system, you do this to test if any of the wires are broken in the ribbon. have done it several times & never had a problem. check all your fuses & make sure they are ok here is a link showing all the fuse locations

hi i'm not sure what flipping the ribbon would do, i have never done it, it could cause problems or damage the motherboard or on/reset eject switch. probably not something i would of tried. check all the fuses and if they are ok try a new on/eject switch & ribbon. if that doesnt work then it may have damaged the motherboard.
