I'm trying to join two avi files together with virtualdub, but it doesnt work. i get the message Couldnt locate decrompressor for format "XVID" (unknown) I ve installed ffdshow, and it still doesnt work. Can any one help me?

download and install K-lite codec pack

Otherwise, more simply, install both DivX and Xvid codecs (they cover 99.99% of the AVI movies around). Xvid is free and DivX, if used ony to DECompress AVI files, is free too.
