DVD laser broke - can't run hd loader

Hi - i got a problem. My PS2 (v4 model modded with an old neo4 chip) laser is no longer working with most of my cds. So i thought i'd install my spare hdd. Loaded it with ISOs using winhiip (of my original games of course) and now i need to somehow get the PS2 to use the HD. It's not an official Sony drive - its a maxtor 40gig (i checked the compatability chart 1st so i know its ok).

Now, seeing as i can't use the dvd drive to load HDloader, and my HDD doesnt have a loading utiliy installed, is there any other way of booting from HDD... like for instance, copy an existing boot sector direct on to the HD before installing it (no idea where i'd get one)... or maybe theres a way with the memory card.

I have searched this forums a few times with no luck. Hope you can help

Nope, there is nothing you can do. Even if you put hd loader on your mem card, your ps2 has to be able to run a ps1 game to get the exploit loaded.
