Hi guys, okay I just bought Doom and made a back up of it with 16x Verbatim DVD+R, code MCC 004..i burned it at 6x speed, with cloneDVD2. In the begining of the movie it skipped once. The rest was fine until the end when it was skipping like crazy! I booktyped it to DVD-ROM also. Now i only have my computers DVD player to play it off of because i am in college. Could it be skipping becuase its playing on my computer? I upgraded to the latest firmware yesterday. I have a Liteon SHW-160P6S. I also did a test with nero and i would put a picture of it, but i dont know how to. If somebody can tell me how to post a picture of it i will. Anyway it came out with a quality score of 95. I also ran the scan disc option in the nero speed test. came out 100% green..disc good.

@berger103,
I bought Doom & backed up Movie Only with CloneDVD 2 & AnyDVD using Verbatim DVD+R 16x too. Played back Perfect. I burn those @ 8x all the time. HOW did you manage to booktype to DVD-ROM using CloneDVD 2? When I did mine I just used CloneDVD 2 as usual. I watched all of the back-up and saw no skipping or errors of any type. 6x? My personal recommendation for MCC004 is 4x or 8x.

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

i guess ur using a seperate utility to book type since ur using clone. try closing this utility, it might be interfering with clone. try cleaning ur burner, and the disc(original) also.

i didnt think there was a real difference between 6x and 8x. I am going to try to burn it again. That other program i use to booktype i got it off of liteon website. You change the setting before you burn, then you close it. I am going to try it at 4x speed.

@ bunnyrip

I just started using AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2 and I noticed that my +R disks are being burned at DVD-ROM. Previously I had set DVD Decrypter and Nero bitsetting tools to booktype, so somehow it must have changed the firmware option and CloneDVD 2 picks it up....

If you are using the lite-on booktype utility or eeprom dvd-rom setting in dvd decrypter with your litey, you will be able to booktype dvd+r media to dvd-rom regardless of what burn utility you use. This can also be done with benq's using their booktype management tool or qsuite. The setting is stored in the drives eeprom and has nothing to do with software. Carry on.
