Pioneer DVR-231 DVD Won't Eject

Hi there,

I've never posted on here before and am hoping someone can help me with this... I have a Pioneer DVR-231 that has worked perfectly for the past few months. A few hours ago, I had made a copy of a DVD that I was going to send to relatives (a DVD of some home movies originally from our video camera) and when it was finished, I put it in my Pioneer recorder to play it back and make sure it came out okay.

When I put the DVD in, it began to load as it normally does but it seemed to be taking an awfully long time. I decided to hit "stop" and try to eject the DVD, thinking that maybe I had just hit upon a bad disc and would just need to make a new one. The DVD would not eject. I then unplugged the recorder, waited about 20 seconds, plugged it back in, turned it back on and tried again. I still couldn't get it to open up and get my DVD out.

Having given up on getting the recorder to eject my DVD, I decided to take the top off and see if I could get to it that way. Once I got the top off, I had no idea how I would get to the DVD. I'm not the most tech savvy person, so I don't want to just go unscrewing and removing things that I don't know about and risk doing any damage to the recorder. If someone on here would be kind enough to take a moment to explain to me how I might be able to get this disc out, I'd really appreciate it.
