Hey, I was wondering what the best type of media is for backing up DVD movies and Xbox games? As well as what write speed I should be doing each on?

What's the brand name and model# of your DVD-RW drive?

Some models may prefer a certain speed and even certain brands of discs along with a certain format.

Generally slower is better. For movies,4x is about par. Not sure how games are.

The best media is the quality stuff. Media quality is the number 1 issue when it comes to dvd backups. The crappy media can screw you up in many ways. Not only successfully burning,but playback is where the crap media can screw you up.Longevity is also a factor.The lower quality media is known to have dye breakdown sooner than the quality stuff.You also don't have much more for the good stuff.We can assist you on the good stuff,where to get it,and at the cheapest places.

Verbatim-Mitsubishi advanced metal azo dye-same with taiyo yuden
Hitachi-Japanese maxells
