I have nero and it does almost real time authoring which takes 6 hrs because i put 2 3 hour movies on it.

I have 150 movies on my computer which are xvid ( divx) .avi and such , is there a program that can burn these faster or more then once. Like it can make iso's so i can burn them later.

Bassicly I want to get rid of these files off my hard drive ( they take up 90% of my 400gb) so i want to burn them and keep them on a disc. Instead of taking so much time is there a program that can do it faster?????

TSUNAMI MPEG DVD AUTHOR PRO is about the fastest Authoring program. It's not free but very good and easy to use.

There are lots of DVD Authoring programs and I'm sure everyone has their favorites to recommend.

You asked for something that was fast and the one I mentioned above is the fastest I've tried (which is quite a few).

As for freeware, I'm only aware of one (Video DVD Maker), which I haven't tried. Perhaps a GOOGLE would lead you to others?

Keep in mind that for a process like this, you'll get what you pay for! :)

hey ksuta
the reason this takes so long is that the program has to take the AVI video and convert it to MPEG-2 (this is the time consuming part) so if its speed you want youll have to use an external encoder and i beleive cce(cinema craft encoder) is the fastest at it and proly the most expensive ...but its not easy and if you want to batch it (do a bunch one after the other) youll need extra software (ccefront is my favorite). but if you go this route then youll need to get a few other peices of software (all free i beleive to get a final product) to get to the final dvd stage

here is a guide that i used when i first learned how to do it:
http://aktee.t35.com/

this guide leaves you with .mpg files that are used what know as the 'authoring' step which is adding menus and formaating the movie for a dvd ...i use dvd lab pro (not free) but since it doesnt seem like you want menus, the command line dvd author program (included in the programs folder of DVD2SVCD which ull have downloaded in the above guide) takes like five minutes so is much faster but i dunno how to use it so youll have to find a guide for that

bottom line:
real-time AVI to dvd is great time ...i dunno what kinda quality you get but it doesnt sound like you care ...so id stick with what you got because i think the only benefit to doin it this way is better quality
-and IF do right itll proly take the same amount of time (but itll take a lot of learning and time to set everything up to do exactly what you want)
-then again when you set everything up itll make the dvds one after another with you only haveing to burn em to dvds
